+ What should I expect at Sudsy's?

A. Simply pull up to one of our touch-screen interactive pay stations -- accepting cash, credit cards and customized fleet and gift cards -- and follow the on-screen video instructions. Once you complete your transaction the gate will open and you and your car will enter our state-of-the-art conveyorized wash tunnel and exit 130 feet and 3-minutes later with a smile on your face and a sparkle on your car. At your discretion, you can also choose to use our FREE vacuums and/or our FREE to use glass cleaner and towels with any purchase. Additional brand name car cleaning products and refreshments are available in our onsite vending machines.

+ Do you take credit cards? What other forms of payment?

A. Yes. We accept VISA, Master Card, American Express and Discover. We also accept cold hard cash, Sudsy's Gift Cards, Sudsy's Fleet Cards and the latest technology, the FastPass™ tag.

+ Can I buy online?

A. Not yet... but check back soon as we are working on our online store. You will be able to purchase individual washes, buy gift cards, join our Unlimited Wash Club and much more all from our website.

+ What is a FastPass™ tag?

A. The FastPass™ tag is a sticker about the size of a stick of gum that is applied to the upper left hand corner of your windshield where you’ll never notice it. Using the latest RFID technology (radio frequency identification) each vehicle is instantly recognized as it approaches our automated pay stations. Once a vehicle is identified, it is granted access to the wash tunnel and our computer automatically provides the proper wash package.

The FastPass™ is used in our Unlimited Wash Club, our FREE Reward's Club, and our Fleet Programs.

+ Do you vacuum or clean the inside of my car?

A. Well, sort of. Sudsy's is what is commonly referred to as an "Express Exterior Wash". What that means is that our state-of-the-art computerized equipment in the tunnel gives you a quality exterior wash, but we do not vacuum or clean the inside. BUT WAIT!!! We do offer 20 commercial grade vacuum stations for you to self vacuum - and the best part...the vacuum use is FREE with any wash package purchase!

We also provide professional vending items to assist you in a final detail if you desire.

+ What kind of chemicals or soaps do you use?

A. All of our soaps and cleaning products are acid or caustic free, and are biodegradable. They are safe for your vehicle and for the environment.

+ Doesn't washing a car at Sudsy's waste a lot of water?

A. No. Believe it or not, we recycle up to 75% of our water!

We us a PurWater™ Reclaim System and advanced computerized equipment to treat and recycle our wash water to be reused when cleaning your wheels and tires, underbody and in some high pressure applications. Sudsy's loves the environment as much as we love clean cars! To learn more about our environmentally friendly program, click here.

+ Why shouldn't I just wash my car at home?

A. Don't get us started! Here are just a few of the good reasons...

...From the time you enter our conveyorized wash tunnel and exit 130 feet later, it is only 3-minutes. Try that at home!

...Studies show that the average person uses between 100 and 150 gallons of fresh water when washing a car by hand; contrast that with Sudsy's which uses only 30 to 45 gallons of fresh water for each wash, plus 75 gallons of recycled water.

...The pollution generated from washing your car in your driveway goes directly down storm drains - meaning these untreated liquids, soaps and chemicals are discharged directly into Rutherford County’s streams and rivers, making their way ultimately to lakes, bays, and oceans. Sudsy’s Car Wash uses 100% biodegradable chemicals AND we dispose of our waste by first removing most solids, and then directly disposing the remaining liquids into the sanitary sewer system where it is properly treated and processed.

...So with Sudsy’s, not only are you doing something good for your car, you’re doing something good for the environment!

+ Is Sudsy's a "touchless" car wash?

A. Seriously, do you wash your hands without rubbing them together? Do you wash your clothes without agitation? Do you keep your teeth clean by just gargling water and mouthwash, or do you brush them? Okay, you get the point! It is very difficult to get anything REALLY clean without contact - even with high pressure and harsh chemicals, like many "touchless washes".

That's why at Sudsy's we us Micro-Clean Foam and Soft Cloth material (no brushes) and 100% safe biodegradable shampoos to gently clean your car. While our Soft Cloth makes contact with your car, it is the best way to get it clean and will not scratch or dull your clear coat finish.

+ What types of vehicles can you wash?

A. Sudsy's can wash most cars, vans and trucks (maximum height of seven feet, two inches.) We cannot wash "dually" trucks.

+ Do you wash pickup trucks & vans?

A. Yes. Pickup beds must be empty before going through Sudsy's. We provide two truck bed clean-out/prep areas. Some oversized "trailering" side-mirrors are incompatible with our process, and certain types of modifications that employ oversized or off-road tires or radically raised suspensions may not be compatible. We cannot wash "dually" trucks. If in doubt, just stop by and ask!

+ Is the wash safe for convertibles?

A. Yes. Make sure your roof is properly latched!

+ Is the wash safe for freshly painted cars or for new cars?

A. Yes. We use soft cloth wash materials and mild cleaners. However, the paint should be allowed to cure before washing - consult with your body shop for curing times. Paint on new cars is fully cured before delivery.

+ Is the wash safe for alloy wheels?

A. Yes. Most car makers caution against washes that use acids on polished aluminum wheels, since these can stain or strip away clear coat finishes on the wheels. Sudsy's uses NO such acids, and only soft cloth washing material and high pressure spray nozzles; so your wheels are perfectly safe.

+ Will my antenna be OK?

A. Any fixed factory antenna will not be harmed during the wash. Power antennas are hollow core and WILL break if left in the raised position, so please lower all power antennas. Sudsy's is not responsible for antennas that have not been lowered. Aftermarket products such as CB and cell phone antennas should be removed prior to washing.

+ Will my bug shield and trailer hitch be OK?

A. Unfortunately, we can't be responsible for aftermarket accessories. Most customers who have bug shields wash their vehicles with no incident. However, problems can arise if the shield has already been damaged by rock chips, or by stress cracks around the installation screws (which can be hard to detect), or if it is made from low-grade plastic. If you need a new bug shield, we recommend products made of Lexan, such as Lund® or Deflecta-Shield®, which are virtually indestructible.

Trailer hitchs will not be harmed by our equipment; however, to allow our "wraps" to give you the best quality wash possible for the rear of your vehicle, we recommend removing a hitch if possible. Also, hitch receptacle plug inserts should be removed prior to washing as they may break or come loose in the wash process.

+ Will the car wash remove egg or shoe polish on glass?

A. If you get to the car wash before the egg dries, it might be removed in the wash. Dried egg is very corrosive, and damage starts almost immediately. Contact a local detail professional if the egg has already hardened. Shoe polish will not always come off during the wash and may need to be scrubbed prior or post washing.

+ Will the wash remove road tar or tree pitch?

A. Our wash tunnel will unlikely remove road tar or tree pitch. There are special products sold specifically for that purpose (visit our on-site vending area.) Refer to your owner's manual for the manufacturer's specifications. Whenever possible, try to remove the stain while it is still sticky. NEVER use abrasive cleaners or pads to remove stains from your vehicle's finish. Make sure to clean the area thoroughly after treatment. Consider protecting the area with a paste wax after cleaning.

+ Will the wash remove bug splats?

A. Our wash tunnel will remove most bug remains, particularly if washed soon after the "splats", but we cannot garauntee that all bug remains will be removed by the tunnel wash. We recommend purchasing our best $20 Manager's Special Wash (which includes a "bug juice" application as you enter the tunnel) and that you use our convenient on-site 'prep areas' to scrub and prep trouble areas. We also sell special products specifically for stubborn bugs (visit our on-site vending area.) NEVER use abrasive cleaners or pads to remove stains from your vehicle's finish. Make sure to clean the area thoroughly after treatment. Consider protecting the area with a paste wax after cleaning.

+ My finish looks dull and streaky. Why?

A. This is usually a sign of oxidation, which occurs as paint ages and decays from exposure to sunlight and road oils. You can slow the process by washing your vehicle often, applying our Poly sealant regularly and a coat of hand wax at least once a year. If oxidation has already occurred, try cleaning the paint with a paint cleaning compound, then polishing and waxing the finish.

+ How do I protect my clearcoat?

A. Regular application of our Polysealant creates a polymer barrier that helps protect clearcoated surfaces from UV rays and airborne contaminants, as well as acids from leaf stains, tree sap, bug spatter and bird droppings ...all of which can eat through the clearcoat and cause permanent damage. Polysealant is designed to provide a protective polymer barrier for up to 30 days from date of application. So make it part of your "routine maintenance" by including it with your car wash regularly.
